Energetic, emotional, and at the same time intelligent and melodic, Arnan Raz’s music combines jazz with his Israeli and Jewish roots. His music is influenced by jazz idols such as Lester Young, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane. Born 1985 and raised in Kibutz Merhavia in Israel, Arnan was exposed to a wide range of music from a young age. Immediately after he started playing the saxophone at the age of thirteen with Albert Beger as his teacher, he worked in small bands and big bands, as well as taking part in very important productions all throughout Israel.
Directly after his mandatory service, Raz started his academic studies at the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance under the guidance of Boris Gamer and Eli Benacott.
