The Frank Giasullo/Art Themen Quartet is a US/UK jazz collaboration, led by New York-based composer/pianist Frank Giasullo and the great UK saxman Art Themen. The Quartet's blend of original material, jazz standards and signature soloing abilities creates a seductive sound, and can be heard on Until The Next Time, recorded in London and released last Autumn. Frank Giasullo is a classically trained jazz player but his piano playing and the music he writes comes as much out of his feeling for gospel, folk, and blues as his classical and jazz background. Frank believes this gives his music ‘a rare naturalness and ease with which listeners instantly identify, yet it also possesses emotional and musical layers that offer new delights long after the first hearing’.
