Maciej Tubis started playing piano at an early age. At the age of fourteen he had already given a concert with the orchestra of the Stanislaw Moniuszko Musical Schools Complex in Łódź. His education led him to graduate with distinction from the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lódź, Poland, majoring in piano under the supervision of Professor Beata Cywińska. Tubis also attended lessons in improvisation and big band music. At the moment, he is a lecturer at the Faculty of Jazz at the Academy of Music in Łódź and the Stanisław Moniuszko Associated Music Schools in Łódź.
Maciej Tubis has given concerts in numerous jazz clubs all over Poland and recitals on radio stations. In 2004, he formed Tubis Trio, with bassist Marcin Lamch and drummer Przemek Pacan. Their first –and so far only– album,
