The trio share the intimate new video for the latest track from their eagerly awaited new album Entity, their first in seven years, that's released on 20 September

‘Father Daughter’ is the second single to be released from the Neil Cowley Trio’s forthcoming album, Entity, the long-anticipated new recording that’s released on 20 September on Hide Inside Records.

Commenting on the songs dedication to that special bond between parent and child, Cowley said: “It remains and prospers despite all external influence and threats” says Cowley, “ It shapes the future and it holds onto the past. It is a finite experience and yet continues beyond its own lifeline, designed to protect and nurture. Most of all, it is love at its purest; the compound of opposites”.

Over the course of 12 years and six critically acclaimed albums, the Neil Cowley Trio built an army of loyal fans and achieved considerable successes. Yet in 2017, pianist and composer Neil Cowley pressed pause on his trio to embrace a new solo (and equally successful) musical direction. Yet, after seven years of solitary music making, Cowley felt it was time to kick against the power of technology that controls our lives and pervades our interactions with each other. Whether it be the endless need to check social media or the wonders of studio tools to create the sonic effect of an orchestra, alone, Cowley wanted to do away with these barriers and reconnect with beloved bandmates, bassist Rex Horan and drummer Evan Jenkins. A studio reunion was arranged, tears were shed, and new album Entity was born.

The band return to the live performance arena too with their first gig in seven years as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival at EartH Hackney on 19 November
