Hello - I'm quite new here, and look forward to contributing. I'd thought my registration had not been accepted because my password is not accepted on the site's pages, but I'm able to log into this forum. Do I need to register separately in order to share reviews or edit artist information? I wish to update the very old biography for Jim Clayton, a pianist and vocalist I recently reviewed on AR Stash, but cannot seem to log in to his page.
If anyone can share information regarding this, I would appreciate it. Thank you. Stephen |

Hey, Stephen,
Members can't update bios themselves but can write and add album reviews. You can just write the updated bio's version and I will add/change it if you like. Just send it to me by PM or put it here.

Thank you for the prompt reply. Here is the more current bio. I spoke with him at the show I reviewed this spring and he says this is the most current one.
It seems to be proper, and not a lot of marketing miscellany; is it suitable? I sent him a link to the current one on this site, and he said it is quite old, and is from a website intended for event planners and not jazz listeners. Thank you again - Stephen Jim Clayton biography:
DownBeat Magazine called Jim Clayton’s music “warm, happy, and soulful.” He calls it a blend of bebop and New Orleans, the city he considers a second home (his first one is Toronto, Canada). His repertoire is a mix of jazz standards, reimagined pop classics, and his own memorable writing. Jim’s last two albums, Lenny Jumps In (2016) and Songs My Daughter Knows (2014) landed on the jazz radio charts in both Canada and the USA. He won three national awards with recording act The Clayton/Scott Group, and his music has been heard internationally on radio, in film, and on television (including Dateline NBC, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and MTV). Jim spent a decade as a music director with acclaimed theatre company The Second City, entertaining audiences around the globe, from ex-pats in Asia to our troops in Bosnia. He began streaming nightly performances at the start of the pandemic; after over 750 online shows, Jim garnered 30,000 new online followers. For his most recent album (his vocal debut) Jim returned to New Orleans, where he'd recorded Songs My Daughter Knows a decade earlier. Drummer Herlin Riley and bassist Amina Scott back him on the new record, titled Look Out. Jersey Jazz called the album "hip and swinging" and praised Jim for carrying on the tradition of "singer/pianists like Bobby Troup and Bob Dorough." |

Thank you for doing that. You mentioned that members can add reviews; am I able to add them so that they are visible from the artist page, or only in the Forum's section for reviews? I would like the reviews to be accessible to a reader who visits the artist page.
I have posted reviews for both Jim Clayton and Olivia Van Goor in the Forum, but do not see an artist page for Miss Van Goor. Is this something I might assist with? She is a young vocalist from the Detroit area, with several recordings and a busy schedule, and so she seems a good candidate for inclusion. Thank you again for your time and assistance. |

Thank you for doing that.
I attempted to add an album review for Jim Clayton's most recent album, but I am having the same problem that I first contacted you about: I am logged in, in such a way that I can message with you as I am now, but when I visit the artist's page and click to review the album, it asks me to log in again. It does not work when I use the exact same login info as I did for these messages. Just now, I logged out and then back into this message area, to ensure that I was using the correct login name and password, and indeed I am. Please advise. Thank you for your help. |

Yes, you need to log in again on artist's page trying to review the album. Logging is quite sensitive so make sure you type exactly same login info (Capital letters, spaces, dots, etc). Don't copy/paste the password, type it again

Yes, there are two log-ins, a log in for the site and a log in for the forum. Also, there are are periodic check ups and you may be asked to log in again even though you thought you were already logged in.
