The Last Poets – Africanism
The godfathers of hip-hop find a fitting alliance with Nigerian Afrobeat and London’s jazz scene For more than 55 years, It fitted the rather joyless ideological zone they often inhabited. Hi,
Their bit on the film PERFORMANCE is exceptional, although I doubt that many folks today can relate to it ... and the best/worst? It STILL makes plenty of sense. These guys deserve better, than just a footnote somewhere.
