Almost all the new jazz I listen to comes  from Europe,  Nik Bärtsch and Jaga Jazzist, who I am crazy about,  to name 2 have made some wonderful music the last 10 years.

Llyria and Holon are among my favourites, didn't like  Rea
I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

Half a year ago I gave the first listen to the latest Nik Bärtsch's Ronin album called LLYRIA and I was completely blown away. I've became a huge fan since then and I want others to give them a listen because it's an experience one of its kind.

For those who don't know the band, it is a minimal jazz ensemble, led by enigmatic and intriguing pianist, known as Nik Bärtsch. The music they play is basically a mélange of minimal classical music,"cold" european jazz, delicate echoes of traditional Japanese music and groove driven funk, but there's so much more in there to find and enjoy!

I'm curious if are there any other fans of the band here? If so, let share our opinions!

Here are some tracks:
