John Larkin aka Scatman Joe cut a vocal jazz record in the mid 80s long before he got into house music, so he is much more than just a gimmick.
There may not be much improv in today's dance music, but back in the day, jazz was dance music.

I almost mean it, i was just thinking i should trye to search him up, on the archive. I found him and became very happy and found it slightly hillarious also, knowing he is sort of forgotten and not taken seriuous becouse hes a euro dance famed artist. But ive got to understand hes slightly more than that, hes quite revolutionary in terms of how he embraced euro dance by introducing improvisation, in form of scating. It is quite strange and unique to have improvisation in such a strict and standardised genre as dance music that dose not allow for much improvisation. Edited by snobb - 13 Feb 2019 at 4:12am |
