Gender was probably a factor, the fact that she played an unorthodox instrument for jazz was also a factor, but her music is well worth checking out.

in the literature of jazz you very rarely hear of her
not saying she's one of the all time greats but she was very gifted and unique and her music is very appealing is she underrated because of her gender? I think maybe so |
