I'm wondering why your friend thinks its an alto, looks like a tenor to me. One of the big differences between the two is it takes more air to play the tenor, it's also bigger and heavier. Its easier to transpose on the tenor because its in Bb, not Eb like the alto.

Hi!

I just won an auction for a Selmer Bundy (tenor? I asked a friend after the auction and he thinks the instrument might actually be an alto) for $120 (https://shopgoodwill.com/item/198590777) and I'm really excited because I've never played tenor before. Before I take the plunge and make the payment, I want to learn a bit more about the instrument though and was wondering if anyone could help me out?

The Serial Number is 570481. From what I've seen, that seems to pinpoint the instrument to the 70s, but I'm not sure what the implications of that are.
