I discovered this site a couple of weeks ago, but didn't introduce myself.
I have eclectic tastes, in music in general, but also in jazz. I prefer 'ECM'(old and new) to 'Blue Note', I like Nu Jazz, Contemporary Jazz and some Avant Garde Jazz., 'Third Stream' is one of my favourites, I like World Jazz-latin, middle-eastern; fusion for me is 'cold fusion'-I appreciate the techinique of the musicians but the music leaves me cold, I listen to european jazz more than to the american one(aprox 70-30 % ratio).
I hope we will all enjoy this site and hopefully will not see Bjorg and Moon Safari here.
I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...
