I second this one. Laws does excellent piccolo work on Jaco's (Used to be a) Cha-Cha. |

No idea who's playing with Diz on this one but whoever he is, he's pretty fantastic:

I, myself played flute on some big band song and it works perfectly. I always tought that flute was a fully assimilated jazz instrument as well as a classical music instrument.

I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

Thank you! I was about to start believing nobody remembered him! I would like to recommend Shem-Tov Levy: he can play anything from rock to jazz, pop and world music and give his own style to the music (while being an excellent pianist and singer as well) |

Hubert Laws, who played a lot of flute on Gil scott-Heron albums, before Brian Jackson did take over, is another superb flauter

As for the flute players, I recommend Malik Mezzadri. |

Of course they are, and deservedly so. Although Lloyd does play the flute very often. |

That shows you the power of music, that magician of magician, who lifts his wand, says his mysterious word and all things real pass away and the phantoms of your mind walk before you clothed in flesh.
