Yeah, I do hear some similarities to "Old Man River", hard to tell though.
Too bad the op is not looking for 2:19 to 2:32, thats clearly "Night in Tunisia".

I agree that they'e just riffs, you may not be able to identify them as songs, except the third one sounds to me like Old Man River.

You could try allaboutjazz.com
They might help you, but they are a little on the snooty side over there and sometimes dismissive of newbies, still, it might be worth a try.

I would be interested in knowing too, if you find out, post it here.
I'll check the samples again sometime and see if I hear anything different.

I don't know any of those samples, but they all sounded familiar, just common riffs really.
I doubt the first one is Parker, it sounded more like early 30s jazz. The second one is big band swing, mid 30s to 40s and the third one was a bluesy bebop number, but it almost sounded like two different sax solos linked together.

Hello guys,
first of all sorry if i posted this in the wrong section. Does anyone know these 3 Jazz samples? Double Dee & Steinski - Jazzy Sensation (1997) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4q3CJwr0ms 1) 0:21 - 0:25 2) 2:05 - 2:10 3) 2:51 - 2:59 I read on another site about all the samples used in that song, but unfortunately those 3 parts are included. Maybe the first one is Charlie Parker, but i don't know... I hope anyone can help me. Greetings Tom |
