If my memory was certain, I thought that time was necessary from MB to the import of information of the site.

Bio (taken from PA): Les Paiens are an instrumental Jazz Rock / Fusion quartet from Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, that have built a solid career far away from the usual prog centers. Starting out as in 1994 as a sound track project for friends who needed music for their 6 part local tv series, they've gone on to play such prestigious gigs as the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Francofolies de Montreal (at the local showcase club - le Kacho), along with many international events. Influenced by many sources - Miles Davis ((In a Silent Way, A Tribute Jack Johnson), and others like Mahavishnu Orchestra, but also contemporaries like Erik Truffaz, Tortoise. They also show their roots in rock recalling such musicians as Zappa & King Crimson, with some Gentle Giant, Genesis, and even Rush at times. But always with what they call a big, squalling rock attack that meets deft jazz improvising. . The group currently consists of cousins Jean & Denis Surette, Marc Arsenault and Sebastien Michaud. And though they are one of the bands from this smaller demographic area, they see a bright future in building their fan base beyond mere geographical limits. Something to do with great music, eh ... Something that fans of Nu Jazz would do well to check out ... |
