Yet another archival recording from the Sun Ra vault, although this was recorded in the mid-70s, the mix of avant-garde lounge numbers and campy RnB harks back to an earlier time in Sonny's career.

Its been interesting lately watching certain trailblazing jazz artists re-connect with the wit and almost flippant intelligence of older (pre-1945) jazz styles. Mike McGinnis's music combines modern abstraction with some sorts of early bebop and pre-bop.
