Fabiano do Nascimento
Solstice Concert

Two pieces from what I think is a Brazilian touch here in the music, but it does not exactly just stay there and it moves well into other areas, and the flute like sound taken from what appears to be some electronic works by a guitar or even the saxophone and some really nice guitar work on it ... it manages to give us a very satisfying piece of music with a nice touch and groove. It is described as "African" in nature, though in my mind, this is much more like Brazilian material than it is African and Brazil has been very open about its history with the African slaves ... it appears that so many of them came to this place to help uncover the immense space and forests ... to the point that it has affected their history a lot.

The only funny/weird thing, is how much I can hear Egberto Gismonti's style of acoustic guitar within the music. Very well done stuff, and looking forward to the album!

And, if I may say so ... I really need a good feijoada ... haven't had any in at least 45 years! OUght to tell you hos nice the music is! The album is due in a couple of weeks.

====================================
Duduka Da Fonseca
Rio Fantasia

Album due in a couple of weeks. Sample is called "Soccer Ball" ... and while a nice jazz'y piece in the lounge style of music, I always thought the game was a bit faster ... but what the heck, this piano "fantasia" is a nice listen. Duduke is the drummer btw, the piano by David Feldman ... and it is really nice and enjoyable.
