Hello guys,

first of all sorry if i posted this in the wrong section.

Does anyone know these 3 Jazz samples?

Double Dee & Steinski - Jazzy Sensation (1997)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4q3CJwr0ms

1) 0:21 - 0:25
2) 2:05 - 2:10
3) 2:51 - 2:59

I read on another site about all the samples used in that song, but unfortunately those 3 parts are included.
Maybe the first one is Charlie Parker, but i don't know...

I hope anyone can help me.

Greetings Tom

I don't know any of those samples, but they all sounded familiar, just common riffs really.

I doubt the first one is Parker, it sounded more like early 30s jazz.
The second one is big band swing, mid 30s to 40s and the third one was a bluesy bebop number, but it almost sounded like two different sax solos linked together.

I would be interested in knowing too, if you find out, post it here.
I'll check the samples again sometime and see if I hear anything different.

But on the other hand, i'm not sure if i will ever find out.
I mean this is a Jazz forum and where would people know those samples other than here?!

You could try allaboutjazz.com
They might help you, but they are a little on the snooty side over there and sometimes dismissive of newbies, still, it might be worth a try.

I agree that they'e just riffs, you may not be able to identify them as songs, except the third one sounds to me like Old Man River.

Yeah, I do hear some similarities to "Old Man River", hard to tell though.
Too bad the op is not looking for 2:19 to 2:32, thats clearly "Night in Tunisia".
