True, but always worth mentioning. It's some of the most epic jazz Ive ever heard, and is easily top 5 best jazz albums of the 2000s.

But you narrowed it down to the last five years yourself!

I know. Pablo goofed, but I figured it's no big deal if a jazz newbie sees that, and decides to check it out. It IS a very good album.

Henry Threadgill........."This Brings Us To" Vol 1 and 2

Hiromi..........."Voice" prefer to "Time Control" but you all know I am more Bop than Fusion

Allen Toussaint.........."The Bright Mississippi"..............wow Cool

Kurt Elling.........."The Gate"   have to be my fave contempary Jazz Vocalist........He is doing his thing Thumbs Up

Jimmy Bosch.........A Million!..........what Afro Cuban mixed with Salsa Dura (old school) should be like.

Greg Osby............. 9 Levels, his best for me though is" Channel Three"  2005, sax, bass, drums trio...........awesome stuff

I know out of the release date but these contempary Jazz albums are sh*t hot in my opinion to say the least

Terence Blanchard.........."Jazz In Film" it has strings and you all know I do not like them usually with my instrumental Jazz but not so here . Beautiful renditions of the Soundtracks.

Two Latin albums ( I will flog Latin Music because it is so damn good) and these two below are super duper

Jack Costanzo.........."Back From Havana", it is the best release on the CuBop (Ubiquity) that they have ever put out and I have heard a lot of em' on that label. Bloody runaway train of an album from Jack

The Big Three Pallidium Orchestra........."Live At The Blue Note"..........they finish with "Oye Como Va" with Toto Puente Jr. doing his dads song

I got this recently, and I like it a lot. A lot different from the other two Zorn albums I have.

Yes, this is awesome! I was hooked when someone posted live Zorn clips somewhere, and I saw 'Little Bittern' and was mind-blowed.

definitely the best new jazz music i've heard these last 4 years. Members of Tortoise, Isotope 217 and Danish psych-improvisors team up to create some truly fantastic improvised jazz fusion that evokes Bitches Brew and Big Fun.....
