Hi. Just wondering if this is a 2 5 1. If so, is the D7 a major D7? It's from Barbados...Charlie Parker.

Yes, e minor 7 - A 7 - D Major 7 is a ii - V - I chord progression. The final destination chord should be a Major 7.
If the chord progression was em7 - A7 - D7 not Maj 7, then the D7 would want to resolve to G Maj 7. Edited by js - 19 Nov 2018 at 4:40am |
