Nice track, but it sounds more like an easy listening arranger. Andre Kostelanetz and Les Baxter come to mind. It does not sound like Henry Mancini or Quincy Jones.

Thank you very much kind sir for your toughts. Sought music is an intro and outro theme for Slovenian every workingday political talk radio programme and is still running with the same music theme from around 1977! Soundwise, it is from that period, first half of 70's. I went to listen through some of your hinted and connected authors, so Mancini recordings from that period are the most close. Andre Kostelanetz orchester was to big with his strings and to classical in influence. Les Baxter has not done any significant recordings in that period plus his sound is too percussive. Could be Lalo Schifrin, but his soundtracks were already funked up at that time. Could have been german James Last Orchestra, but their recordings where too clasical or too vocal and poppish at that time. It might actually be an exclusive Slovenija Radio & Televison Big Band recording, since the great composer Jože Privšek also played vibraphone, which seems like a main melody lead instrument. It is so well blended with brass, i cant tell, is it vibes or guitar ... |

I wouldn't be surprised if a Slovenija studio band is who it is. This may be the studio's own library music.
The main melody is being played by a guitar and doubled by another instrument that is hard to make out, but probably a vibraphone. Edited by js - 23 May 2020 at 7:57am |

I just found out that Jože Privšek and the members of his RTV Big Band have in 1980's worked in Germany under the name Jeff Conway and His (Ballroom) BigBand/Orchestra. Privšek was a jazz master of composition, piano and vibraphone, who studied at Berkeley with Herb Pomeroy.
