June 9, 2013 ... in Osaka, Japan, the rainy season begins these days and it was a bit wet and hot ... also in Nakatsu Vi-Code, where DJAMRA, ZONK MONK, and Taku YABUKI UNIT (Taku, active in Tokyo, has already been quite renowned as an ex-keyboardist of KOENJIHYAKKEI). We had ALREADY absorbed in such an amazing atmosphere, actually! DJAMRA came out upon the stage, after ZONK MONK's fascinating gig. Yes today was "keyboardist day", and Takehiko FUKUDA (keyboards) in disguise with silver hair (what a hoot). Takehiko FUKUDA (keyboards) ... he was the hero (heroine?) tonight! The first is their masterpiece "Kamihitoe" ... heavy groove around them as well! Hmmmm, something odd ... Their newest one "Kihihi", a instrumental track that represents a mad yellow baboon attacks a group of flamingos, reminded us brutal scenes like the end of a flamingo life ... with Masaharu's lazy MC (called as "matchlock gun talk, not machine gun talk" by Masaharu lol). Very 'azy, very 'unny ... ugh Sayaka KAWADA (trumpet) was another heroine also tonight (my luv)! Always steady drumming by Akihiro "Enon" ENOMOTO (drums, percussion) Masaharu NAKAKITA (bass) ... his play was superb, despite of his matchlock gun talk (lol). Shinji KITAMURA (alto saxophone)'s drastic shout was quite cool in "The Cave". But his talk was a bit closer to machine gun than Msaharu hahhaha. Sayaka was too shy shy to talk at all. Two "top" were great indeed ... their combination was splendid! Their playlist was as follows; 1. Kamihitoe 2. The Cave 3. Assassin In Sin 4. Kihihi (Yellow Baboon) 5. Komurakaeri 6. Zetsuen Doon We Osakan rock freaks have completely got immersed in DJAMRA's fantastic / fascinating / funky / funny / f****** play ... oh yeah! Thank you for reading my live performance review for DJAMRA! |
