Hello everyone, I worked towards a Masters degree in music composition. I know all the major, minor, major seven, minor seven, dominant seven, diminished and augmented chords/arpeggios in every position on the neck. I've also got the diatonic modes, pentatonics, harmonic, melodic minor, whole tone and half whole down, as well as understand how they're used to some extent though I'm not proficient at playing standards. If you're a beginner or intermediate player, I can help answer questions most likely. My favorite guitarist is Frank Gambale with Allan Holdsworth a close second. My favorite keyboardist is Chick Corea but I also like Bill Evans and McCoy Tyner, My favorite bassists is Jaco Pastorius. My favorite drummer is Tony Williams. My favorite jazz violinist is Jean Luc Ponty. For sax gotta love Coltrane. I compose a lot of music and I'm posting some up here soon. Nice meeting everyone. P.S. this is copied and pasted on other jazz forums on the net so please don't zing me for being a copy paster.

I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...
