In the song Mood Indigo by Louis Armstrong & Duke Ellington does anyone know what that faint almost 'ooooo' sound is in the back ground. It comes in around 7 seconds into the song, its been panned to the left side. i cant quite work out if it is a a voice as it could almost sounds like it could Jewel Brown (the female singer in the video 'oh when the saints' for Louis) as its like when she scats in that song, or if it is an instrument. probably a silly question for someone with a trained ear but it has been annoying me for weeks now. i know that in very early jazz some artist have been known to make their voices sounds like instruments.

I fixed your link and that's a clarinet, although when it first comes on it sounds a lot like a voice.
