I'm reminded of a great Miles Davis story. When Mike Stern was trying out for Miles' band he was playing his favorite bebop licks and Miles said, 'quit playing that shit, play this instead', after which Miles produced a boombox with Van Halen on it.

Eddie at his best, the first part of his guitar solo sounds like a tribute to Ritchie Blackmore.

indeed a shocking news for every one of us.He was a consummate musician and an extraordinary virtuoso on the guitar.
He leaves a giant footprint and an irreplaceable void.
