There is a famous post-war French author called Boris Vian. Often deemed a 'polymath' he was a proficient writer, poet, playwright, engineer, musician, composer etc. He was also a big jazz fan and styled many of his novels around the genre.

My question:

One of his novels is called 'Crayfish' (English translation) and is dedicated to Jack Teagarden. Many literary scholars seem to think that this is a tune that Jack Teagarden wrote (or recorded). However, I can find no reference to it at all online.

Did Jack Teagarden ever write of record this elusive song called Crayfish? Or have scholars made it up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll have some time to look into this later, we'll see what comes up.

I couldn't find anything. If he had a song called Crayfish, it would probably show up pretty easily.
