I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

As most of modern ECM releases are far from their early goodies, and generally contains not much of jazz at all, but looking from jazzy point of view could be tagged as third stream. And comparing with many other their new age-like or over-arranged and over-polished (some say - intelligent elevator music) albums, this still has its own grace (but still more jazz for jazz haters LOL)

music inspired by Tarkovsky's movies, crossover between jazz and classic, can be as well hated or loved by both genres fans
