Jazz Journalists Association Announces 2015 Awards Winners

Randy Weston receives Lifetime Achievement honor

The Jazz Journalists Association has announced winners in 32 categories of its 2015 JJA Jazz Awards. Pianist and composer Randy Weston has won the 2015 Lifetime Achievement in Jazz Award, and pianist Jason Moran was named Musician of the Year. The JJA has also released details regarding its annual public Jazz Awards party, to be held at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City on June 16. Winners of the 2015 Jazz Awards for excellence in media categories will be announced at the Blue Note.
