| Following the release of Xavi Reija's “Resolution” album on MoonJune Records in March of 2014, Xavi Reija,Dusan Jevtovic and Bernat Hernandez have been touring and honing their chops to razor-sharp accuracy which allows them to take each composition, with its intrinsic melodic and rhythmic components, and then to partially or fully unfold and deconstruct as they explore the vast sonic palette afforded by their creative use of guitar, bass and drumkit. The performances that make up “Live at RZZ” include 7 songs from Xavi’s release, “Resolution” and 1 from the Xavi Reija Electric Quintet 2007 album, “Dreamland”. The spontaneity of this music is at once tangible and thrilling. Musical directions taken and decisions made all feel very “of the moment” yet fully informed giving the listener a strong sense of investment and making for a most compelling listen. - Dan Burke
