Even if people don't leave comments, you will still be getting views on this. You can go to the Musicians Exchange index page to see how many views.

By the way, feel free to review or rate some albums while you are here. We are always looking for knowledgeable jazz fans who are interested in writing reviews.

Hey guys , heres the new solo for this week.

The solo this week was particularly hard! It sounds quite easy at first but its so delicate at times and so full on in other parts. That made it really hard for me and my fingers to get around it.
I really love the solo though. I know Julian Lage "doesn't explore Chromatic or negative harmony (yep thats what people do now...I heard...) on his new record but for me it is just such a joyful listening experience.
This solo alone makes me smile and grin all over which is a nice change to the slightly depressed, slightly panicky look jazz usually gives me.

But anyway enjoy the video:

Another good one Matt, lots of difficult-to-imitate fluid timing on that one. At the 0:24 mark is a climb-up that used to be popular with Carlos Santana.
"Negative harmony" is a new one on me, have to look that one up and see what its about, if anything.

Hi , thnak you ! yes at 0:24 its basically a chromatic run upwards in octaves. Julian Lage is a very player with many influences not only bebop vocabulary so im sure that could be santana influenced :)
I myself dont know anything about "negative harmony" but I heard it being mentioned in college a couple of times as a concept Bartok and co used or worked on.

Hi guys,

I got a new Video for this week.
This time its a blues by Peter Bernstein. Initially I thought that it sounded great but also quite "easy".
Not very technically etc.... I had no Idea. This one is probably one of the hardest I did so far.
The feel is incredible. And the nuances in his phrasing make him still stand out in the crowd of modern guitarists.
Simply a great musician.
Check it out :

Another good one, very sophisticated playing within a blues framework.

Hey ,

Another week, another Video.
This time for a change I went back to an old landmark recording.
I did the first part of Sonny Rollins solo on St.Thomas from Saxophone colossus.
Its so amazing to me how he develops his Ideas in this solo.
I hope you enjoy
