Leave your respects for one of the greats.   John Abercrombie has passed.

One of the greats indeed, very versatile guitar player, he will be missed.

So sad to hear the news: John Abercrombie will always be one of my all-time favorites. While he had obviously slowed down over the last five years, I was completely unaware his health was in danger. He just released the wintery Up and Coming earlier this year, which will now forever be thought of as "His Last Album: final musical will and testament". My seven favorite Abercrombie albums:
1) Current Events - 1986
2) Gateway - 1975
3) Timeless - 1975
4) Gateway 2 - 1978
5) M - 1981
6) 39 Steps - 2013
7) November - 1992
This does not take into account phenomenal guest spots on albums like Enrico Rava's The Plot, Charles Lloyd's The Water is Wide, John Surman's Brewster's Rooster, Jack DeJohnette's New Directions, and too many more to mention!
