Hi all,
we've a made a jazz music sheet search directory. Feel free to promote it to friends and jazz aficionados as we're curently testing the idea. We'd appreciate it if you'd report back any bugs. It can be found here: http://www.resoldo.com.ar If you feel like helping expand the music database, contact us and we'll explain how to create a simple Excel sheet so we can incorporate your data as well. It currently contains the following jazz real books: FakeBookRealJazzBookHalLeonard WorldsGreatestJazzFakeBook BillEvansFakebook JazzFakebook JazzLtd ColoradoCookbook TheNewRealBook_Vol_I TheNewRealBook_Vol_II TheNewRealBook_Vol_III TheRealBookVol_I TheRealBookVol_II TheRealBookVol_III TheRealBookForBbInstrument LibraryOfMusiciansJazz Brazilian_Jazz_Real_Book TheBbRealBook_Vol_I TheBbRealBook_Vol_II TheBbRealBook_Vol_III JazzOfThe50sFakeBook TheEbRealBook_Vol_I TheEbRealBook_Vol_II TheEbRealBook_Vol_III Best regards, the ReSolDo team |

I don't really see the need. If I want to play a piece, I write it down off the record. That also makes sure that the item is in the right key. A good ear will let you play a piece from memory, unless the arrangement is complex.
Miles used Red Garland for that, because Red kept a book of tunes and knew the changes to all of them. Miles wasn't always right, either. He recorded "Straight No Chaser" (in 1958) in F, but it is really in Bb. |
