Part of that young hip socially relevant crowd that includes Kamasi Washington, Matana Roberts and Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah, trumpeter Jaimie Branch plays stripped down street savvy modern fusion with roots in hip-hop and indie post-punk culture. If the sort of young people who squat vacant buildings listen to anything jazzy, it would probably be Jaimie.
