Saxophonist Jordan Vanhemert returns to his childhood inspiration Charlie Parker in Deep in the Soil, and Elliot Galvin pushes boundaries in his experimental album The Ruin. Talented bassist John Patitucci delivers a spiritually driven trio album with Spirit Fall, drawing on his playing experience alongside legends such as Chick Corea, Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock. Our last release from Mama Terra also draws on the legendary music of Hancock in Chameleons: Live Interpretations of Herbie Hancock, an innovative take on the great compositions with plenty of unexpected twists. No stranger to ECM, Mathias Eick presents his next album with the label, Lullaby. Known for his soothing and wistful sound on the trumpet, Eick captures his most improvisatory and exploratory music to date as he’s joined by his esteemed quartet members: Kristjan Randalu on piano, Ole Morten Vågan on double bass, and Hans Hulbækmo on drums. Full of melancholic lyricism and slow builds, Eick presents an album inspired by the ECM sound of the 70s and an acoustic set-up. Available Formats: CD, MP3, FLAC/ALAC/WAV, Hi-Res FLAC/ALAC/WAV Recorded live at the Glasgow International Jazz Festival in 2024, the ensemble of Mama Terra create a fresh take on the classic tunes of Herbie Hancock in Chameleons: Live Interpretations of Herbie Hancock.
