Álvaro Domene is a Madrid-born, New York based guitarist, composer, and music educator operating at the convergence of various styles of spontaneous and composed music.
He has been part of the jazz and improvised music scenes of both London (UK) and Madrid (Spain) up until his relocation to NYC in the summer of 2015. He is now an active performer on New York City’s jazz and creative music scene, performing regularly with different ensembles and collaborators.
Recently, Domene’s compositions have been featured on critically acclaimed albums “Opik-3”, by the co-led trio ZÖBIK-3 (described as “the forefront of Spanish Jazz”” by Ocio por Madrid Magazine, and featured as album of the week on Avant Music News) and co-lead quartet Gran Masa’s self-titled debut, album of the week on RTFM Radio Australia. Both records are available on digital platforms and also through Cuneiform Records and the Downtown Music Gallery in New York City.
