Scherrer got with seven years of Violinunterricht and taught itself the saxophone game with 15 years self-educated. He/it plays also further instruments, like piano and Hammond-Orgel, beside it. He/it played in disco bands at first before he/it studied in Basel at the conservatory with Ivan Roth (classic) saxophone. In the jazz, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter and Joe Henderson (him/it he/it 2003 a Hommage dedicated on the album "Serenity - tributes to Joe Henderson", Unit Records) count. Since 1972, he/it works as Freelance-Musiker in own groups, but also with the "Slide Hampton-Joe Haider orchestra", that "Hot Mallets" of Isla Eckinger, "Free Bop" of Billy Brooks, with Renato Anselmi and the Swiss volume "Magog" about Klaus Koenig and "Cojazz (as a pianist)."
