Born 1977 in Offenburg (southern Germany), Arne Huber studied both jazz and classical bass. His comprehensive musical education is detectable in both, his playing and his compositions. Apart from his quartet Arne Huber is very in demand as a sideman and active in several projects. With the band L14,16, together with his band colleague Rainer Böhm, Huber won the 1st price at the “24th International Hoeilaart Jazz Contest 2002” as well as, on several occasions, the “Vierteljahrespreis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik”. With the Felix Fromm Sextett Huber won the 1st price at the Jazz Festival in Gexto (Spain). Huber has appeared on over 25 records and played at prestigious festivals like the London Jazz Festival, Jazz Baltica, and Cully Jazz Festival. He now lives in Freiburg and teaches double bass at the conservatory in Mannheim (Germany).
