BANDHADA was formed in mid-1983 under the auspices of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile by five young people trying to shape their musical interests through a musical language that mixed jazz-fusion and progressive rock. Juan Coderch on drums, student of Percussion, Alfonso Feeley, on keyboards, student of Sound Engineering, together with Juan Carlos Neumann on flute and Francis Philip Clark on bass, began developing a unique language with mainly compositions of guitarist Carlos Chung. Eventually, this new music quintet was widely accepted in cultural circles of the time, with performances in cafes, theaters and university events, and was the first band to perform a concert at Sala Isidora Zegers (Faculty of Arts, University of Chile).
