Dana Reason is a Canadian-born pianist, composer and researcher. As a pianist and composer, Reason has performed extensively throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe and can be heard on over eleven CD recordings. She has appeared at Frau Musica Nova, Guelph Jazz Festival, Banff Center For The Arts, Stanford University, San Francisco Jazz Festival, Spring Reverb, and Is That Jazz? Seattle, Festival among others. Reason was part of The Space Between Trio with Pauline Oliveros in 2000s. She has performed with Mark Dresser, Fred Frith, Joelle Leandre, Lori Goldston, Bert Turetzky, Alex Cline, Mary Oliver, Barre Philips, Cecil Taylor, Lisle Ellis, George E. Lewis, among others. Reason premiered her new work: Oui/Yes- Non/No-Peut-Etre for solo piano in Prague, June 2013. The work is also the soundtrack for a new film “Yes/No/Maybe” by Cynthia Valdecadena (Bienvé Films) and will premiere at Poto Festival August 2013.
