Dave Anderson is a saxophonist and composer who brings a significant music voice to the jazz scene. Proficient on all the members of the saxophone family, Anderson has performed around North America with notable musicians including Clark Terry, Gene Bertoncini, Jim McNeely, Matt Wilson, Craig Taborn, Nick Brignola and Mel Torme. Although he plays in a modern style, Anderson has received accolades from jazz legends including Ray Brown and Rufus Reid. Increasingly Anderson has focused on composing original music for projects such as The Dave Anderson Quartet, the James Baumgart-Dave Anderson duo, and Trio Real. “Clarity,” Anderson's debut recording as a leader on Pony Boy Records, features eight of his original songs and documents the development the quartet, which came together in January 2008 following a successful one-nighter at Egan's Ballard Jamhouse in Seattle.
