Dave Betts has worked with a wide variety of musicians from Peter Gabriel to jazz pianist Jason Rebello and with acclaimed composers such as David Fanshawe (African Sanctus). His unique playing style enables him to play several percussion instruments at once, and live performances are full of energy and multiple layers of Latin rhythm – not to be missed!
DAVE BETTS QUINTET This funky Latin jazz quintet was formed in 2000 as a vehicle for drummer Dave Betts’ original compositions. The band moves effortlessly between Latin, jazz and funk and the emphasis is on infectious rhythms, ear-catching solos and accessible melodies. There are 4 albums available from the band including a live album recorded at Ronnie Scott’s. The 5th album “These Times” is due in spring 2015 and features Australian tenor man Brandon Allen.
