Swiss jazz guitarist, born in 1983 in Altdorf. At the age of 23 he graduated from the Lucerne Music Academy Fak. III course in pedagogy, where he was taught for three years by Kurt Rosenwinkel.

was taught privately by his parents from the 2nd primary level on. Travels during this time led him with his parents to India for a year. He took classical guitar lessons from his father, Felix Gisler, who graduated from the Winterthur Conservatory, from the age of 8 to 14.
At the age of 23 he graduated from the Lucerne Music Academy Fak. III course in pedagogy, where he was taught for three years by Kurt Rosenwinkel. Gisler is co-founder of the band NoReduce, in which the American drummer Nasheet Waits plays. In 2017 he founded the Dave Gisler Trio with Raffaele Bossard (b) and Lionel Friedli (d).
