David Dominique is a composer, performer and music theorist living in Somerville, MA. He has composed music in a variety of genres including chamber music, jazz, electroacoustic music, installation, rock and theater. On December 3, 2013, David released Ritual, an album of compositions for a unique jazz-like ensemble, including flute, violin, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto and bari sax, valve trombone, electric guitar, electronics, and a hard-driving rhythm section. The album was recorded in downtown LA with some of that city’s most accomplished young improvisers and contemporary performers (regulars on the LA Philharmonic’s Green Umbrella new music series, members of Vinny Golia’s small groups, etc). David has performed portions of the album with three different medium-sized ensembles in Boston and LA.
Earlier in 2013, David composed and conducted a live chamber score for a new theater work, Starcrosser’s Cut. The piece was a collaboration with playwright/director Joseph Tepperman, with whom he last
