Dee Byrne is a saxophonist, composer and improviser based in London. Active within various original jazz and improvising ensembles, she has established herself as a unique voice on the UK creative scene and beyond.

Dee’s primary creative vehicle is her contemporary jazz quintet Entropi. Playing her original compositions, the band’s first album New Era was released on the F-IRE Presents label in 2015.

Joined by an excellent bunch of musicians: Andre Canniere (trumpet) Rebecca Nash (keys), Olie Brice (bass) and Matt Fisher (drums), the ensemble has achieved a striking empathy and freedom to take risks.

Other projects include improvising electronics duo Deemer (with Dutch sound artist Merijn Royaards) and Word of Moth – a collaborative quartet with Cath Roberts and rhythm power houses Johnny Hunter and Seth Bennett.
