Born in Panamá and raised in the USA, Denia Ridley has been singing professionally for over twenty years. She started her career singing in the late 80's with an original funk band in the very liberal and music-oriented town of Austin, Texas where she attended university. The group signed with Alpha International Records and toured the US. By the mid-1990's she was performing in a very popular jump blues/swing band. But it wasn't until the year 2000 that Denia discovered her love for "straight-ahead" jazz and bebop standards; and she's never looked back.
