Guitarist, trombonist, arranger and composer, Emiliano Sampaio lives nowadays in Graz (Austria). He studies Jazz Composition with Ed Partyka, Michael Abene and Ed Neumeister at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz.
Born in São Paulo in 1984, he studied Popular Music in the University from Campinas (Unicamp), where he got a Bachelor and a Master degree with the research “The compositions of Nailor Proveta for the Banda Mantiqueira”.
During the years in Campinas, he started the partnership with Luis Andre Gigante and Gustavo Boni and created the group “Meretrio”, that recorded already 5 albums together. In 2012 the trio became the nonet “Mereneu Project”, which won the “Downbeat” Student Award 2014 in the category ”Best Small Jazz Combo”.
As arranger and composer, won the 3rd prize in the Graz Jazz Comp with the big band composition “Paris” in 2014, and worked with HR Frankfurt Radio Big Band, Regensburg Jazz Orchestra, Marco
