Manhattan-based bassist Joe Fonda assembled this unconventional trio on an uncanny hunch that the combination of sonorities and musical personalities would be a compelling one. Following the FAB Trio's release of Transforming the Space (CIMP), they have been performing festivals and tours for over six years, and continuing to explore the dynamics of their particular lineup. Drummer Barry Altschul is a crucial figure in contemporary jazz since the 1970s, and has contributed his sensitive accompaniment to projects by Dave Holland, Chick Corea, and Anthony Braxton, to name a few, in addition to his own projects.
