Gary Schwartz teaches jazz ensembles, improvisation, theory and guitar lessons in the Music Department of Concordia University, Montréal. He has worked in organ trios, big bands, pop, blues, ethnic and funk bands and with James Brown. He has played and recorded in many different styles with his own groups, LETTINGO – The Music and Influence of Ornette Coleman, Public Transport Project, Between The Lines, Inside/Out, Dualism, Trios and as well as with Kim Richardson, Thom Gossage/Other Voices, Tim Brady, Muhammed Abdul Al Khabir/Time Capsule, The Montreal Symphony and McGill Chamber Orchestras and all the Canadian Jazz festivals. Schwartz has also worked at all the major television and radio stations in Montréal and has played in international productions of Les Misérables, Chicago, Showboat and Evita to name a few.
