“Jøkleba!” : Per Jørgensen, Jon Balke and Audun Kleive.
The group formed in 1990, and quickly established itself as one of the most exciting and unpredictable groups on the Scandinavian scene. Jøkleba uses composed material integrated in improvisational methods in a manner that creates a music that is totally unrestricted, and can move anywhere from melodic to textural, rythmic to arythmic, abstract to concrete, yellow to red, cold to warm. Jøkleba took a “time out” in 2005 and reemerged spring 2011 at Vossajazz timed with the release of double CD Jøkleba/Nu Jøk ?
