Javier Colina is considered one of the best bassists in the current scene; started in this self-taught instrument after having devoted to the study of piano, accordion or guitar self-taught as well. His career has led him to play alongside established musicians in the jazz world as George Cables, Tete Montoliu, Chucho Valdes, Jerry Gonzalez, Jorge Pardo or Perico Sambeat. Outside the jazz scene has collaborated with flamenco musicians like Tomatito, El Bola, Pepe Bean, Diego El Cigala or Enrique Morente, and has experimented with Cuban sound, accompanying the bass Compay Segundo, Pancho Amat or Bebo Valdés in his Tears job Negras, or a week of performances recorded live on disk Bebo Valdes and Javier Colina live at the Village Vanguard in New York.
