I have been a bass player, composer and teacher for four decades now. I have had the opportunity to tour with fantastic bands and musicians: Amin+ Hamza ,Malia ,Bob Minzer, Ivan Lins, Randy Brecker, Mathieu Michel, Russel Ferrante, Funkybrotherhood, The Clients, Montreux Jazzfestival, bassist of the Voice Competition and co-producer of "Bowie the swiss years" Veronika Stalder, Candy Dulfer ,Fred Wesley, Vinz Vonlanthen, George Robert, Vincent Periani, Marla Glen, Julie Campiche, Baiju Bath and many more. I have also been teaching at the Jazz Department of the Lausanne Conservatory of Music (HEMU) since 2006.
In 2020 it was time for "Jean-Pierre Schaller Enigma 4'tet" my most personal project so far. Together with the top musicians of western Switzerland and long-time companions Marc Jufer, sax, Julien Revilloud, guitar and Marcol Savoy on drums, we perform my compositions live and in the studio.
